This policy explains how the Parish Records System (this website and its Android app) handles personal information. WHAT WE KEEP Church records entered by authorised parish staff: names, birth details, addresses, contact numbers, photos and signatures; sacramental records such as baptism, confirmation and marriage; membership and member ID details; payments and receipts; attendance; and scanned documents. WHY WE KEEP IT To keep the church's sacramental registers, issue certificates and member IDs, record payments and attendance, and let members see their own records. WHO CAN SEE IT Only signed-in staff who have permission for that branch, and each member for their own records. We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers. Information is given to others only when the law requires it. THE APP The Android app opens this same system. It uses the camera only when you choose to take a photo or scan a member ID's QR code. It keeps no records on the phone apart from your sign-in, and it has no ads and no tracking. KEEPING IT SAFE The system is reached over a secure (https) connection, passwords are stored scrambled, changes are logged, and backups are made regularly. YOUR CHOICES You may ask the parish office to show, correct or remove your personal information, subject to the church's duty to keep its sacramental registers.
